Hello again, so glad you could stop by again! Today I will be showing you how to make a super simple bookmark that would go great in any book.
Bookmarks are one of the simplest ways of adding a little flare to any book you are reading and its even better when you create your own. They are also a great gift for that special bookworm in your life. Now lets jump into making this simple but beautiful bookmark.
I began by cutting a piece of paper to 3 inches by 4 inches using the project life by Becky Higgins picture punch. I used a purple paper by paper Accents which was perfectly what I was looking for.
After I finished cutting out all of my pieces of paper I began to think of what I could do to add a little flare to this piece of paper. I finally decided to stamp some flowers on two of the corners; I used the Anemone Coronaria stamp set from Altenew.
To make it easier to stamp out the flowers on the pieces of paper I used the wermemorykeepers precision press advanced. I placed a piece of paper on the precision press, then I placed the stamp faced down where I wanted the image to be. I then inked the flower image with versamark which is a clear ink and used clear embossing powder (recollections brand) and heat it with my heat too. By using clear embossing and a solid colored paper you create a tone on tone effect; this is a great way to add a different shade of color though it may not work with all papers and I recommend trying which papers you could create a tone on tone look.
After I finished embossing all of the bookmarks I was making I felt like something was missing which is when I thought about adding a bit more color so i pulled out my distress inks my Ranger. I Tool my ink blending tool and began to add more color to the edges of the bookmark.
I decided to go heavy on the blending between the corners that had no flowers and lighter where I had placed the flowers.
To finish off this bookmark I punched a whole with a hole punch and added a ribbon.
