Lawn Fawnatics- challenge 51

Hello my wonder crafty friends; today I am sharing with you a card that I made for the current challenge Lawn Fawn Fawnatics has going on. For this card I used the Lawn Fawn "Gingham backdrops" and the "Our friendship grows" stamp sets. Challenge #51 is to create a "card sketch" ; of course you could create different projects but the catch is to use the guide Lawn Fawn has provided to create your project. Below is an image of the card sketch for this challenge. As usual I will put the products I used at the bottom of the page.

To begin this card I cut a piece of white 110lb cardstock to 5 1/4 by 4 inches,I then took my piece of paper and placed it in my MISTI; I placed it towards the middle to be able to use my "Gingham backdrops" stamp set from lawn fawn. I took the larger backdrop from the stamp set an placed it diagonally; as the lines are on the card sketch image above. Then, I took a red ink to stamp the backdrop; in this case I used the "heart beat" crisp dye ink from Altenew.

I then took my piece of paper out of my MISTI and set it aside; I then cut a piece of black paper into small strips. First I cut down my black paper to 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 to make it a bit more manageable to work with. Then, I cut some strips to about 1/8 of an inch. I grabbed the gingham stamped paper and the strips and glued one strip to the top of where the red ink starts and one to the bottom where the ink ends using Rangers Multi Matte Medium. Once I finished gluing the black strips I set the paper aside.

Next I cut a piece of white cardstock to 5 1/2 to 5 1/2 inches; once again I grabbed my MISTI and placed the two flower images, two of the leaf images, and the pot image from the "our friendship grows" stamp set. I then stamped the images with Inkon3 "fadeout no like coloring" ink since I was going for a "blended" look for my images. You could also use a light ink to get a seamless no line coloring, or use the second generation stamping of the lightest ink that you have to get it lighter to use no line coloring, or use a light color of distress ink such as "antique linen" if you do not have the fadeout ink from Inkon3.

As you can tell in the image this is a super light ink which allows you to accomplish the look of no line coloring. Once I stamped the images on one side I rotated my paper 180 degrees and stamped it once more in the same ink. I stamped it twice just in case I messed up on one of my images while I colored them in. To color my images I used alcohol based markers; but you could use which ever media you like. As I stated in a previous post I don't have Copics but I have other brands of alcohol markers such as Chameleon, spectrum noir, and others; I also mentioned I have an older set of the spectrum noir markers and I will try my best to get the name of the color correctly when I link it below. For my coloring I used three different colors of yellow. I used the YL2 (summer sun) by Chameleon, the Melon Yellow (33) by firefly (I found these marker at Tuesday Morning and havent been able to find them on the internet...sorry) and last but not least the Golden Yellow from spectrum noir.

First I began by coloring in the large flower; I began by coloring a base color with the YL2 (summer sun) from Chameleon since it was my lightest yellow. I colored every other pedal of the flower; I did this in order to not "loose" the layers of pedals since in the image it seems as they overlap. Once I finished coloring with my base color I then took my second color; in this case it was the Melon Yellow (33) from Firefly and began coloring at the bottom of the pedal in sort of a "U" shape, I did this to all the colored pedals. Then I took my darkest color (Golden Yellow from spectrum noir) and colored it in the same way as the previous color only slightly below the second color as shown in the image above. I then colored the rest of the pedals until I completed coloring my flower. Then I colored over all the pedals to blend out my colors. For the center of the flower I used the colors Chocolate (92) by firefly, Burnt Sienna (Y934) by Brea Reese, and Bronze (99) by firefly. To color the center I softly tapped the fine point of the marker all around; going from lightest to darkest which in my case was Chocolate, Burnt Sienna, and Bronze. I colored the smaller flower the same way

Once I finished coloring my flowers I then colored the pot and the two leafs. For the pot I used Mars Orange (Y529) and Burnt Sienna (Y934) by Brea Reese. I started off by using the Burnt sienna, since I had stamped my image with the no line coloring ink I felt I needed to color in the shadows first in order for me not to loose them then I used the Mars Orange to color the whole pot. I used this color combination because I wanted a Terracotta look. For the leafs I used Sap Green (G335) and Cobalt Green (G326) also by Brea Reese. Again I used the darker color first (Cobalt Green) and then went in with the lighter color (Sap Green) in order to not loose the "veins" of the leafs. Once I finished all of my coloring I used the coordinating dies to die cut my images. I also die cut a scalloped edge circle out of some white cardkstock and began playing around wit the placement of my flowers. once I was happy with where they were I used some foam adhesive and placed them on the scalloped circle. Then I took some black paper and heat embossed with some white embossing powder my sentiment and cut it out. I then adhered the scalloped circle with my images on it to the gingham backdrop I had created previously. I then took some more foam adhesive and attached my sentiment to the front of my card.

By this point I was pretty much finished with my card but I felt that something was missing so I took the small heart stamp that is in the "our friendship grows" stamp set and stamped it out 4 times with " Pink Pearl" from Altenew; die cut it and adhered them to my card. I also took some more black paper and cut it down to 5 3/8 by 4 1/8 and glued it to the back of my white paper and glued the whole piece on to a 51/2 by 4 1/4 card base.
