Puzzle Card (30-in-30)

Hello my wonderful crafty friends!! Today I will be sharing with you how to create a super fun and interactive card. This type of card is great for any age; it brings an element of fun to anyone who receives this card. For this project I will be using Pink and Main, Sweet 'n sassy, and Sweet Stamp Shop products, as usual I will link the supplies I used below.

To Start off this Card I stamped the"you make every day sweeter" sentiment from the "So Sweet Cocoa" stamp set on a 4 by 5 1/4 piece of paper. Next, I masked off the sentiment and stamped out the panda doughnut image from the "Animal Donuts" stamp set. Once I was happy with the image I stamped out the same image all over the piece of paper in clear versamark ink; I used white embossing powder and then heated it with my heat gun.

After I heat embossed my images I made a mask out of some full adhesive sticky notes and covered my doughnut image. Then I took two colors of distress ink and blended it on to my paper. In this case I decided to use "picked raspberry" and "spiced marmalade". I began my blending using the "picked raspberry" distress ink; I blended the color out towards the middle of the page. Then I took the "spiced marmalade" distress ink and blended it a little over the "picked raspberry" distress ink to give it the look as if a third color was used.

Once I finished blending out my colors I took the mask off of my image and colored it in with some alcohol markers. I used a light cool gray to the inside of the doughnut to give it a "white" effect; I made a simple line towards the edge of the part I wanted white then used a colorless blender marker to soften the look.

Once I finished the coloring on the doughnut I took a fine tip marker to extend some of the edges of the doughnut where I saw fit. I also went over the sentiment with an extra fine tip marker.Once I was happy with were I had done I ran it through my die cut machine using the puzzle die from Pink and Main. I also ran a blank 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 white sheet of paper through with the same die cut. By doing this you create two separate puzzles one with an image and one without an image, also one is smaller than the other. I glued the puzzle with an image (smaller puzzle) onto the puzzle without an image (larger puzzle). This does take a little more time but adds a little flair and sturdiness to the puzzle.
