Mother's Day Card

Welcome back to my blog my super crafty friends. As a very special day is approaching I decided to make a card for that occasion; which is of course mother's day.For all the mamma's out there a very happy mothers day to you. For this card I decide to use a couple different products which as usual will be linked at the bottom of the page.

Now lets get into it, to begin this card I first stamped out my images. For this card I used the "Modern anemones" stamp set from W plus 9. I then took some Memento tuxedo black ink and a sheet of 110 lb white cardstock which I cut down to 5 1/2 to 8 1/2. I placed the paper in my MISTI and also the stamps, then I inked up my images and stamped them on the paper. I wanted the image to come out a little darker so double stamped the images.

Once I had all my images stamped out I took some alcohol markers from Brea Reese to color in my flower images. I used the colors "Crimson" (R338) , "Cadmium Red" (R218), "Cobalt Green",(G326) and "Sap Green"(335). I began coloring my anemones with "Cadmium Red"; the way I colored my anemones is how most people color when using alcohol markers. Starting with the lightest shade and moving on to the darker shade. I tried to color the flower similar to a picture I saw on google. This image was of a red anemone with a white center and a it of shading in the middle. I also used the color "Neutral Grey" (CG||06) for the shading part in the center of my flower.

When I finished coloring in my anemones I used the coordinating dies to cut out my images, once they were all cut out I took a card base (5 1/2 by 4 1/4) and rearranged the flowers on to the card base how I felt they looked best. Once I was happy with how they looked I glued them together but not to the card base just yet.

After I finished gluing my anemones together I set them aside and took a piece of scrap paper and the red markers I used to color my anemones. I scribbled the lightest shade first and then the darker shade blending in the middle. Then I took a blender marker and ran it across the top of scribbled color to lighten it a bit. Once I finished and the paper dried I took some alphabet dies and die cut the word "MOM". I also added some foam tape to the letters to add a little dimension to the card.

After finishing that, I took a sentiment from the "teacup roses" stamp set from Sweet n Sassy that reads "So blessed because of you". (Sadly this stamp set is no longer available so I couldn't link it below). I took the sentiment from this stamp set and stamped it on some black paper with some versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Once I had all of my pieces ready I was ready to begin assembling my card. I took my flower clusters that I had glued previously and glued them down on to my card base on opposite sides. Then once the glue dried I added the die cut word "MOM" in the center and then the sentiment on the bottom. Once again happy mothers day to all of you lovely mamma's out there and remember to appreciate your mom not just on mothers day but every day. Thank you for stopping by once more.
